What NeonShield does
NeonShield is a browser extension that mutes ad breaks on JioHotstar, Zee5, SonyLIV, Airtel Xstream, Netflix and HBO Max, and fast-forwards ads on Amazon Prime Video. Each platform has its own on/off toggle, and all of them are off until you turn them on.
Data collection
NeonShield collects no user data of any kind. It doesn't collect, store or send personal information, browsing history, page content or usage analytics, and it sends nothing to any server, ours included.
Settings on your device
NeonShield keeps one on/off setting per platform on your device, in the browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local). Nothing else is stored, and these settings never leave your device.

Permissions
The extension asks the browser for these permissions:

| webRequest | To spot the start of a live-stream ad break from JioHotstar's ad-tracking address. Used for JioHotstar only, and only to read the ad's name and length from that one address. |

| Site access | To run the scripts that spot ads on the pages below. |
Sites NeonShield can access
NeonShield runs only on the sites below, and only for the platforms you've turned on. It can't see any other site you visit. On Amazon, it can see only the Prime Video pages (/gp/video/).

What NeonShield changes on a page
During an ad break NeonShield mutes the video, and on Prime Video it also speeds up playback until the ad ends. It doesn't block, remove or change ads, read what you're watching, or interfere with playback in any other way.
